I discovered etchings in 2016 using zince plates with a mordant of copper sulfide and salt.
This piece was made by using ghost prints (prints made from repeated plate impressions without re-inking) to create a
fade out of the image.

This piece shows the creative process involved with making an image. The first was made from the plate after removal from the
mordant before any work was done on the plate. The strong aquatint made the image almost completely black. As the plate was worked
by scraping the aquatint to create lighter areas, the image came into view. I made several prints as I did this process. Thus, the
overall work shows the 'birth' of an image from a nearly black plate.
Framed Print $250
Death is the reverse process of birth. In this case, an image was made from the finished plate. Then the plate was sanded down with images
being created at various stages of destruction. Unlike The Ghost of George Washington which used non-destructive ghost images, at the end
of this process the plate was destroyed.

This is good example of how inking the same plate in a different way can lead to different results.

This monoprint was made by printing the same image twice on the same paper with a slight offset.

These monoprints were made by printing two images from separate plates on the same paper.
